Terms of Service
Read these terms before you download or use the Spicetify Android app. If you do not agree, do not install it.
1. Agreement
These terms cover the Spicetify app published on Google Play. Installing or opening the app means you accept them, plus the Play Store rules that apply to your purchase or download.
2. License
We grant a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own listening. You may not:
- Sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the app.
- Reverse engineer or extract source code, except where a statute says you may.
- Build an unauthorized product from the app.
- Bypass security or store restrictions.
- Use the app to break the law or someone else’s rights.
Any right not stated here stays with the publisher. The app is not open source.
3. What the app does
Spicetify lets you search, play, and save publicly available media, including media offered through third-party services such as YouTube. The app does not host that media and does not own it. Titles, audio, images, and channel names belong to their owners.
A track can disappear when the source service removes it. We do not promise that a specific song will keep playing.
4. YouTube API Services
Search and playback may rely on YouTube API Services. Those features are also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. YouTube may change or withdraw APIs. If that happens, parts of Spicetify may stop working.
5. Acceptable use
Use the app only in a lawful way. You agree not to:
- Copy, record, or redistribute third-party media in a way that infringes the owner or the source platform’s rules.
- Break DRM or other technical limits.
- Scrape the app or a connected service with bots.
- Interfere with the app, Play, or an API it depends on.
You are responsible for how you use media you reach through the app.
6. Copyright
If you believe something reachable in the app infringes a copyright you own or represent, follow the Copyright Policy. Send the notice through the contact on the Google Play listing. We may also pass a valid notice to the platform that actually hosts the media.
7. Premium and payments
An optional Premium subscription may remove ads and unlock features described on the purchase screen.
- Google Play charges your account when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews until you cancel in Google Play.
- Renewal can be charged within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Cancel in your Play account settings. Access usually lasts until the period you already paid for ends.
- The price shown in the app before you pay is the price that applies. Refunds are handled by Google Play.
8. Advertising
The free app may show ads from third parties, including Google AdMob. Premium, when offered, removes those ads as the purchase screen describes. We do not control an advertiser’s landing page.
9. Our intellectual property
The app’s interface, name, and software — apart from third-party media played through it — belong to the publisher or its licensors. You may not copy or resell that material without written permission. Third-party names and logos stay with their owners.
10. Privacy
The Privacy Policy describes device data, sign-in, and providers such as Google Play, AdMob, Firebase, and YouTube.
11. No warranty
The app is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant uninterrupted playback, compatibility with every phone, or that any track, lyric, or API will remain available.
12. Liability
To the extent the law allows, the publisher is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, or lost profits arising from the app or from third-party media. Liability that a statute forbids us to limit is not limited.
13. Other services
Google Play, AdMob, Firebase, and YouTube have their own terms. We are not responsible for their content or outages. Media you open remains subject to the platform that supplies it.
14. Ending access
We may suspend the app, or your use of a feature, if you break these terms, create a legal risk, or if a dependency is withdrawn. When access ends, the license ends and you must stop using the app. Uninstall it from Google Play or Android settings.
15. Changes
Updated terms will be posted on this page with a new date. If you keep using the app after that date, you accept the update where the law allows. If you disagree, uninstall the app.
16. Law
These terms are governed by the laws that apply to the publisher, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the courts that have jurisdiction, unless a consumer statute gives you a different forum.
