Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the Spicetify Android app handles information when you install and use it. Spicetify is a published app, not an open-source project.
1. Using the app
By using Spicetify you agree to this policy. Information described here is used to run and improve the app. We do not sell that information. We share it only as this policy describes, including with the service providers named below.
You receive a limited right to use the app for your own listening. You may not copy the app, scrape it, or pull data out of it with bots, except where the law allows.
2. What stays on your phone
Playlists, downloads, playback position, and similar library data are stored on the device. They are not kept in a Spicetify cloud account. Deleting them on the device is permanent.
To ask about personal information a service provider may hold, use the contact on the Google Play listing. We respond as required by applicable law, including Google Play’s user-data rules.
3. Information that may be processed
The app may use an Android advertising identifier and basic device details so playback, updates, and optional ads can work. That identifier stays under your device settings. You can reset or limit it in Android.

4. YouTube API Services
Spicetify uses YouTube API Services to search and play publicly available media. Using those features also means you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s Privacy Policy applies to information processed through YouTube API Services: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
If you sign in with a Google or YouTube account, account data needed for the permissions you grant — such as likes, subscriptions, or history — may be processed by Google and YouTube under their policies. You can withhold that sign-in and still use features that do not need an account.
5. How information is used
- To play media, save downloads, and show lyrics or recommendations you asked for.
- To answer a support request you send from the Play listing.
- To enforce these policies and keep the app within store rules.
- To send service notices about the app, not unrelated marketing, unless you opt in where the law requires a choice.
- To meet legal duties that apply to a published Android app.
- To remember preferences on the device, including playback history used for recommendations.
- To understand crashes and usage through the providers listed above, so the app can be fixed.
- To show ads in the free experience, and to hide them if you buy the optional Premium offer in Play.
If you limit a permission, the feature that needs it may stop working. The rest of the app stays available.
6. Log data
If the app fails, a provider such as Firebase may receive log data: IP address, device model, Android version, the time of the error, and the app version. That data is used to diagnose the failure.
7. Cookies
Spicetify itself does not set website cookies inside the app. Libraries from the providers above may use similar identifiers. Their policies describe those tools.
8. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information processed by the app. No phone, network, or store is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.
9. Links
The app and this site may open other websites. Those sites are not operated by Spicetify. Read their policies before you use them.
10. Children
Spicetify is not directed at anyone under 16. Do not use the app if you are under 16.
11. Changes
We may update this page. The date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy, where the law allows that.
