Copyright Policy
Spicetify respects copyright. This page explains how a rights holder can report media that the Android app can reach. Words not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms of Service.
1. Scope
The app uses YouTube API Services so you can search and play publicly available video and audio. Those features are also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
Spicetify does not upload or host third-party media on its own servers. Playback starts from a search or request you make. Copyrights in that media stay with the owners.
2. Third-party media
We do not review or endorse every track a search can return. Availability depends on the source service. You must use what you play in line with the law and the owner’s rights.
3. Infringement notices
If you own a copyright, or you are authorized to act for the owner, and you believe the app can reach an infringing work, send a notice to the developer contact on the Google Play listing. A valid notice can lead us to block that item inside the app.
4. What to include
So the notice can be matched to a result in the app, include enough detail to find it:
- Video or track ID, title, search words, or a direct link.
- A screenshot from the app, if you have one.
- Your name, mailing address, phone number, and email.
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized by the owner, the owner’s agent, or the law.
- A statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury where that standard applies, that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
5. What we do next
After a complete notice arrives, we review it within a reasonable time. Steps can include:
- Checking the identifier you sent.
- Blocking that item from search or playback in the app.
- Keeping the identifier on a restriction list.
- Forwarding the notice to the platform that hosts the media, when that is the right place to resolve it.
6. Repeat issues
If the same source keeps producing valid complaints, we may block that identifier or source more broadly, in addition to the single item named in a notice.
